Holiday Health Edit:

As the Holidays begin to wind down, you may be feeling a little sluggish, still stuffed with Santa’s Christmas cookies, and struggling to get back to your workout routine because who really works out on vacation? So often we are taught that we have to “budget” for our Holiday treats, or “earn” our meal. Let’s be clear, you ALWAYS deserve the special treat and there is nothing wrong with taking some time off your workout routine to rest and reset for the New Year. If you are feeling a bit of the Holiday malaise, here are our top tips for starting the New Year with a bang!

  • Journal, Manifest, Vision Board:
  • 2021 was, well…. A year! There were ups and downs that got you to today. The New Year is a time to let go of what no longer serves you and look forward to the abundance that flows to you. Take some time to reflect on the last year and look within to decide what your goals and desires are for 2022. Grab some scissors, glue, magazines, and a poster board to make a vision board you can keep in a heavily trafficked area of your home to remind you what you are striving for. Take your favorite journal and write out all you can dream or simply go within and ask the Universe to grant you your deepest desires.
  • Find a fun & intuitive new workout program:
  • In case you’ve been taught differently, this is a reminder that a workout is a privilege, not a punishment. Reframe your internal monologue and get ready for a fun new routine! Whether it is a lovely walk around your neighborhood, dancing to your favorite song, or meeting with a personal trainer, moving your body is a great way to enter into a new season with gratitude for your body and openness to explore how to best honor it!
  • Prioritize Nourishment, but don’t forget to treat yo self!
  • Small changes can make big differences. Perhaps you’ve forgotten to drink enough water, or neglected your meal planning during this busy time of year. No sweat- we all do it and there’s nothing wrong with treating yourself. Developing a healthy relationship with your body and food is critical, your body is your home. Consider tracking your water intake, or committing to starting your day with a healthy breakfast and you will be amazed by how much more energized you feel. Always keep in mind that restriction and punishment will not serve you. It is easy to get down on yourself from societal influence and perhaps snide remarks from your Aunt. Prioritize what makes you feel good and remove things that don’t! Remember, you are worth it.
